Short summary
Internal tides are ubiquitous in the world's stratified oceans and play an important role in a wide variety of ocean processes. I developed a new-generation internal tide model, ZHAO30yr, using 30 years of satellite altimetry data. ZHAO30yr contains 12  (eight mode-1 and four mode-2) internal tide constituents. ZHAO30yr decomposes the global internal tide field and reveals numerous long-range beams that contain important information on their generation, propagation, and dissipation.
