Short summary
The Mediterranean Ocean Observing System for the Environment program investigated the fast-changing northwestern Mediterranean through annual cruises from 2010 to 2024. Using consistent surface-to-seafloor measurements, checked against fixed and autonomous platforms, we find intermediate and deep waters warming and getting saltier, oxygen declining and dissolved carbon rising, indicating progressing acidification. These trends can reshape ecosystems and stress the need for sustained monitoring.
