Short summary
This study presents a new global dataset that quantifies Earth’s mass changes by using gravity signals recorded from the GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) spacecrafts. This dataset captures instantaneous mass changes and can reveal short-term dynamics that standard monthly data products do not provide. This enables prompt detection of rapid events such as flash droughts and floods and offers critical information to support improved monitoring of short-term water and mass variations.
