This paper a very interesting study applying the Improved BFFM2-FOA-FPM method to calculate the emissions of six pollutants (CO2, CO, HC, NOx, SO2, and PM2.5) between Chinese and foreign cities from 2014 to 2019. It contributes to the literature by filliwng the gap in the effect of aviation on the environment. The paper is written well and the discuss is highly valid. The following minor comments can be considered to improve the paper:

All figures can be further improved to be more precise.

Authors state the data came from VariFlight and did not mention the exact data types. A more detailed introduction of the data should be added.

Short summary

This paper calculates the emissions of six kinds of emissions from China’s foreign routes from 2014 to 2019, enriching the existing database. This paper applies the improved BFFM2-FOA-FPM method and ICAO method to calculate the emissions, which can combine CO₂ and non-CO₂ emissions calculations and calculate the aircraft types' emission intensity.
