Short summary
We present a globally harmonised land management intensity dataset at 0.01 ° resolution for 2020 and assess its relationship with socioeconomic, biophysical and behavioural factors. We find that economic growth doesn’t uniformly align with the intensive management instead human behaviour also influence how land is managed. Intensive management is highly concentrated with only a few countries accounting for a disproportionate share of global intensive cropland, pasture and forest management.
