This manuscript has it all. A great catalogue of coastal-based instances. Easy to easy, well organized and all concepts are explained with sufficient level of detail. I believe that the manuscript can be published in its current form.

General comments

The document is a user guide, not a regular article. It is hard to understand the authors point, as no justification is provided to justify the introduction of the catalogue. In addition, the data of the catalogue originate from GEBCO, so a natural question is why this catalogue is proposed in the first place. On page 11, we read that the instances were originally designed in the context of sonar networks, which may be a motivation for the introduction of the catalogue, but this point should be elaborated. The lack of motivation for the catalogue is the most important drawback of this document in my opinion.

Specific comments:

In the first sentence of the abstract, the author refer to "this catalogue", which is confusing and vague. The catalogue should be given a name and an identifier.

In page 4, and after in the document, the authors use the term dimension, without a definition for it. In Page 4, we read that "a given library is subdivised into 59 groups of 100 instances, each group corresponding to a single-dimension". This seems to exclude the usual definition of "dimension" that is meant in "three-dimension representation" for example.

Minor comments:

Page 4, replace "and instance correspond" with "an instance corresponds".

Page 4, the second paragraph of the introduction should be in the present tense.

This article provides an in-deth description about the catalogue of coastal-based instances. It  has all the necessary details regarding the instances in the catalogue. Moreover, it is well-written and easy to understand. This catalogue will definitely benefit  the researchers working in the area of sonar networks as well as other areas that require analyzing coastal bathymetric and topological data.  I recommend acceptance of this manuscript in its present form.
