I'm in the middle of the review process but I didn't find any way to access the database. Not the reported links for the databse (https://doi.org/10.12031/activefault.china.400.2022.db), the webGIS (https://data.activetectonics.cn/arcportal/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=684737e8849c4170bbca14447608c451) nor the WMS and WFS services are working.

I'm sorry but I cannot judge the work without those link working.

please, set correctly the Servers and websites and provide a clearer version of the text with the links to ALL the working services within or in a cover letter - i.e., not only in the references.

only a couple of points for your resubmission:

- cut the text that is lenghty and in many places repetetive: pplease avoid repetitions and declare only once, in a clearer way, all the datasets behind this one. a table or a scheme would help.

- provide more synthetic maps with faults classified according to AGE, KINEMATICS and EVIDENCE. this can be helpful for the reader.

- provide a sections clearly describing the criteria adopted for faults classifications and segmentation. Segmentaion is a particularly challenging task for these large datasets. 

- provide criteria for the selections of faults with NAME and with NO NAME

- provide criteria for creating fault systems or not

- provide details on the panels pf professional experts who judged the quality of the dataset ond of the worksflow.

I'll post here my detailed  revision and comments when I'll be able to explore the dataset.

I have started to read your manuscript and think it is an interesting data product. However, I cannot continue reviewing the article, because the data are not accessible. In the meantime, I have started to make some suggestions improving the language (From the beginning to section 4.3)l. Please review these before submitting a new version. (see the supplementary zip file)

I have had similar difficulty to reach your data like the other referee who already submitted the report to the public discussion. I could now reach the database and download the data. Unfortunately, the licence that you have selected for your data (CC BY SA) is not accepted by Earth System Science Data. Can you please change it to a more open license, e.g. CC BY 4.0? 

I would further encourage you to add a new table listing all data sources with their citations (and links if available). You are describing several times "many projects" but without any more information

I am happy to continue reviewing your article if you have solved the license problem.

Thank you for interesting paper. I made several minor corrections and added few comments that you could find in the attached file.

Thanks for activating the links. I was able to check the databased both on the webGIS and through the WFS service.

I'm attaching an annotated copy of the manuscript with notes in addition to the previous ones. Some additional data would be helpful for making the database usefull for seismotectonic studies and, mostly, for assuring the quality check and reliability of the data.
