thank you for the submission of an updated version of your manuscript on "An integrated compilation of data sources for the development of a marine protected area in the Weddell Sea" The reviewers have provided substantiell comments to improve the manuscript and you did follow their advice to a great extent. You added 30 pages of method description. The aggregation of the huge amount of data sources as the shape files require a quite detailed knowledge about how these shape files have been created. You provide in your manuscript and the supplement some of these information, but not all the parameterizations you have used during the aggregation of data. This is in regard of the ESSD mission of reusable data an important point and the description of your methods may also include tasks like data preparation, pipelining and cleaning, which are unfortunately sparse in your method description for the different data products. You also describe a substantiell proportion of your data as being available by personnel contact and demand. Again regarding our mission this is challenging to me. I could understand that this is possible for datasets which are not originating within your group of authors, but you also describe datasets to be requested from you directly. This is quite confusing to me.
In the table 1 and table 2 you provide dois to data sets using the PANGAEA internal DOI resolver which can cause confusion, because it is able to resolve PANGAEA internally unregistered pre DOIs. It is inappropriate for a journal like ESSD to publish these internal links, which might not be functioning in the future. Therefore I recommend that you change these Links to the public and official doi resolver https://doi.org/

Please change the doi issues and consider to increase the availability of the used datasets.
