Short summary
This study aims to improve understanding of thaw settlement, a common issue caused by climate change that affects infrastructure on permafrost. A dataset of thaw settlement test results was compiled from the literature and used to compare soil behaviour during thawing. The study also evaluates common prediction tools and identifies which methods most accurately estimate thaw settlement across soil types.
